6 months!

We can hardly believe how fast the time has flown.  On the night of Luke's half birthday, Matt and I talked about every moment of the day Luke was born.  It was the most perfect day of our lives, and we are so thankful for each moment we've had in the past six months.

Luke continues to get bigger, stronger and more curious each day.  He has perfected sitting up and is working on the crawling.  He can inch his way forward with lots of grunting and effort but cannot seem to coordinate the crawling aspect quite yet.  I'm pretty sure its going to happen any day now! 

Although Luke has not started eating solid foods yet, he cannot take his eyes off of everyone around him eating.  He is definitely ready for some real food after his 6 month check up on Wednesday!

Luke is very observant and curious.  Nothing gets past him!  He's always looking around and staring at people trying to figure out what's going on around him.  He grabs for everything, and tries to immediately taste it!  His new favorite thing is to try to grab your nose/hair/ears/necklace/glasses when you are holding him.  This morning, he poked his father in the eyeball when Matt wasn't paying enough attention to him...

Luke has also become quite the ladies' man.  When any woman pays attention to him, he immediately smirks and bats his eyelashes.  Its quite adorable, and I think he prefers blonds.

Over the past month, Luke has started to become a little bit more clingy to Matt and I.  When we are in a room full of people, he will look around for Matt and I and wait for us to smile at him to let him know that its ok.  If we leave a room or turn our back to him, he'll start to get upset.  I'd love to say that its a pain in the neck, but I so love that he wants us.  My favorite development is that he has started reaching for us.  Nothing is as great as when he puts his arms out towards you!

Overall, Luke is still a very calm and easy going baby.  He has his occasional freakouts, but for the most part, he is pleasant and content.  Over the past month, Matt has had a few out of town work meetings, so Luke and I have been tagging along with him.  He has done a wonderful job of sleeping in the hotels and being very flexible in terms of his schedule.  He sits beautifully during dinners out (he's sitting in his own high chair, too!), and even flirts with the waitresses while we eat!

Look for the next post in a couple of weeks, which will feature Luke at Halloween...he's going to be a leprechaun!

Luke and I swimming at Harrah's in Atlantic City.  He LOVES the pool.  He splashes around for awhile then cuddles right up to enjoy the relaxation of the water.  He liked it so much that we went again the following week while we were in Bethlehem with Matt.  I cannot wait until swim lessons this winter!

Luke went to the Norristown Zoo with Grandmom, Pop, Aunt Arlene, Jack and Holly.  He had a great time looking at all of the animals. 

I no longer need to lug in the car seat when we go to the store....Luke can sit in the cart all by himself.  This picture is one of the first times he did it, so we propped him up with our bags and a blanket. 

Luke on the beach in Atlantic City.  The last time we were at the beach, Luke didn't really know what was going on.  This time, he couldn't wait to figure out what this whole "sand" thing was about...

Every year, Matt's Aunt Helen and Uncle Dan invite us to "The Hunt"-- a horse race to raise money for their local hospital.  Its always a great time.  Last year, we shared the great news that we were expecting a baby, and this year, Luke was able to join us!  Matt's cousin, Doug, has taken over the organization of the entire day, but had a few moments to chill with Luke.  He was very well behaved throughout the day and enjoyed seeing friends and family!

Again, Luke loves the ladies!  Here he is hanging out at The Hunt with his cousin Kathy, her daughters, Kelsey and Jordon, her friend Pam, and her daughter Delaney.  He LOVED all of the attention.

Luke was looking pretty dapper in the shirt Aunt Karen bought him to go out to dinner for his half birthday!  While we were in Bethlehem for Matt's work, we took the night out to go to The Melting Pot.  He got LOTS of attention from the wait staff!
